Water hardness - Dose adjustment calculator

Water hardness (Ca2+ and Mg2+ in the water) can reduce the efficacy of Biokos. It is recommended to refer to the table below and adjust the dosage accordingly.

70-76°F / 21-24ºC

1 tablet/day until fish recover

If the fish continue to look stressed and listless, apply again until resolved.

Instruction for use

  • Ich-Away can be used in quarantine tanks if infected aquatic life can be isolated.

  • Before starting to use Ich-Away, turn off protein skimmer and remove carbon filtration or any absorbant media (phosphate absorbants are okay).

  • Tablet can be broken in half if needed. For aquariums 30-35 liters/10 gallons, use half of a tablet .

  • Ich-Away is stable at pH from 5 to 8.5.

General recommendation

  • Increase aeration in aquarium while using Ich-Away.

  • Replace 25% of the water prior to adding each tablet(s).

  • As Biokos® is a natural product, water coloration (turbidity) can sometimes appear. This should not affect the fish or other organisms and usually disappears in a couple of days.

  • When dosing, drop tablets away from any air stones or bubble wands to avoid a large amount of foam being created (some foam creation is expected).
